Blog Post #2: Bible Archaeology

I learned that the Shroud of Tourin could be the real burial cloth of Jesus. I never knew that The Shroud of Tourin existed, and to learn that it has been studied and debated is very interesting. Wether or not it is the actual burial cloth of Jesus, it shows that people are willing to investigate anything related to him. It signifies the belief and faith people have in Jesus and his historical or spiritual existence. I also didn't know he was buried in cloth and that the cloth showed signs of torture and crucifixion. (National Geographic) Even if this didn't prove his historical existence, the investigation shows how he is considered a historical figure. I learned about the King of Judea, Herod, and how he was the one who sent out the order to kill all babies under two. Blog Post #1: Who is Jesus to me?

1. Prior to this class, what did you already know about Jesus and where did this information come from? Most of my knowledge on Jesus I gained from my confirmation classes and my religion class last year with Mr. Dilag. I learned about how Jesus was a divine, sinless human, essentially God as a human. God sent him to teach people how to moral life and ended up sacrificing himself for our sins. I know that Jesus performed many miracles that included healing people with lepers, curing blindness and many more. I also learned how Mary and Jesus where the only two sinless humans and how his real birth isn't on December 25th. Jesus's was sent to us so we could learn about Heaven, everlasting life, and the sins we shouldn't commit. He died so we could be forgiven by confessing our sins. 2.
